Photographer, musician, nature lover, thalassophile, creator of epic playlists, visual storyteller.

I first picked up a camera many years ago in my teens and taught myself the ropes burning through rolls and rolls of 35mm film. I very quickly discovered a love for black and white fine art photography and pursued that side of the medium, shooting as much as I could and devouring the works of photographers who inspire me like Ansel Adams, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Peter Lindbergh, Annie Leibovitz and a host of others, all photographic storytellers and masters of light and composition. As a fine art photographer I explore themes in nature and the emotional responses they trigger within me. I have taken part in several exhibitions and currently have work available on my website, www.seangibsonfineart.com.

A lifelong obsession with music, both as musician and a rock ‘n roll fan, drew me to shooting live gigs quite early on in life. A stint in London meant I spent a very satisfying few years working for a music magazine and shooting some amazing bands in iconic venues. This is where I learnt to shoot quickly in very trying conditions. I love the frenetic energy and challenges in capturing good frames at a gig and I enjoy carrying this skillset into documenting people at work in a natural and authentic manner, be it chefs in the kitchen, winemakers in the cellar, safari guides out in the bush or hotel staff going that extra mile.

As a nature lover and avid outdoor enthusiast I also enjoy bringing my landscape and nature photography experience into working with wine estates, hotels and any other brands that are looking for beautiful landscape and nature-orientated imagery.

Currently as a photographer I enjoy focussing on working in the hospitality, architectural and interior design worlds. Hotels, safari lodges, restaurants, food projects, wine estates as well as other projects that require an authentic storytelling approach.
